I like the long shot on the front cover and would like to use a long shot on my magazine. There are not too many stories clogging up the space so the photo can be clearly seen which is the effect I would want on my front cover.

I like how the main photo is put to the side so the text can fit around it. I also think the stories under different categories and headings look good and separate the contents page, they also make it look divided and fill the space well.

Research and Planning: Trouble With My Photos.

These were the two possible photos that I was going to use for my front cover, as they looked clear on the camera and are long shots which is what I want to use. Although when I uploaded them to the computer, they looked too blurry to use so wouldn't be effective on my magazine. This means that i will have to do another photo shoot to get a photo of better focus to use on the cover of my magazine.

Research and Planning: Make-up Test Shots.

 By using dark make-up, the style looks more indie/rock and makes the eyes stand out more.

 Using red/dark lipstick makes the make-up look brighter and more noticeable.

 This lipstick will add to nude coloured make-up, and could be put with dark eye make-up.

This make-up looks quite natural, although there is make-up on, there is not so much so the eye looks too dark.

As this doll has quite noticeable make up on and is quite unusual, I thought the name 'The Pot Dolls' would be an appropriate name to use for the band I will use in my magazine. I would like my models to look like this, with their make up being noticeable and giving them a unique look.

Originally, I planned to set my double page spread out by putting a long shot photo on one side of the page with the text on the other side, but when I looked at the photos I have taken, it turns out that the best quality photo and the most effective is a close up on both of my models faces. This means that if I put this picture on one side of the page, their faces would be stretched and distorted, therefore, I am going to put the photo in the middle, going across both pages, and position the text around it so all of the space is used.

Research and Planning: Hair Style Ideas.

 As one of my models has hair similar to this length and colour, I think it would look effective to have it similar to this style as it looks quirky.

Ad my other model has long brown hair like the person in the picture, I will style her hair similar to this as it flows and will look effective.

This is the effect that I would like my band to have, as I am using two females and it is usually males that seem more powerful, the emotions and facial expressions make these two look powerful. I would like to use this effect by my models having straight faces and a unique look, making them stand out.

Reseach and Planning: Colour Schemes.

These are the two most suggested colours that I got in the results from my questionnaire. I'm not too sure about the red, black and white colour scheme as it is too typical of a indie/rock magazine as many of these magazines use this colour scheme. I do like the blue, black and white colour scheme as I like the shade of blue. The blue is like an indigo colour, which would be an effective colour to use for this magazine as the name of the magazine 'Indiego' so would tie in with the title. It's quite a nice colour and would not be used in a rock magazine as it's not deep enough, but because my magazine will be based mostly on indie, the colour would be suitable.

I don't think this model would be very appropriate for my magazine as he doesn't really suit the style and does look indie/rock. The pose probably doesn't help though as he is smiling, whereas in a rock magazine, the artists are more serious and this model looks too happy.

This model could be appropriate for my magazine with the right costume and make up. She could suit the style as she has dark hair, and with the right pose would suit the indie/rock style.

These are not the exact clothes that i will be using but I am planning to use similar clothes, having the models wearing black and white but with brightly coloured tights which will hopefully look effective.

Research and Planning: Title Change.

I thought about my title and didn't really think it was appropriate for an Indie/rock magazine, I think 'LOUD!' is more suitable for a pop magazine. I thought 'INDIEGO!' would be more effective as my magazine is indie/rock. In my prezi presentation, I wrote the name as 'INDIGO' but I then decided to change it and add an E, so the title includes the word 'Indie' which will hopefully be effective as it fits in with the genre of my magazine. I made the 'E' a indigo colour because it isn't in the proper spelling of the 'indigo' so I changed the colour of the letter to make it noticeable that the word is spelled differently.
